Shopify migration service Move your store without losing what you built over the years.
We move stores from Magento, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, OpenCart, Wix and BigCommerce to Shopify: products, customers, historical orders, pages and reviews, with permanent redirects for every old URL. Your current store stays live until launch day.
What does a full Shopify migration involve?
It means pulling data from your current store through that platform's specific API (each one has its own endpoints, limits and gotchas), transforming it into Shopify's format, and writing it in, with automated verification at the end. Products with variants and images transfer, along with categories, customers and order history. Passwords don't transfer (encrypted beyond recovery, on any platform), and neither do custom extensions or plugins — each feature gets rebuilt as a Shopify app or theme code. The genuinely risky part is SEO: we map every old URL to its new address and set up permanent redirects, so you don't lose your Google rankings. It's quoted after a store review, usually takes 2–6 weeks, and your old store stays live until cutover.
Each platform, with its real technical details
We don't write generic copy with the platform name swapped out. Each page explains how data is actually extracted from that platform, what its URL pattern looks like, and what Shopify's own migration app doesn't do for it.
Magento → Shopify
Dedicated API integration, grouped products, VAT verification on prices.
WooCommerce → Shopify
Product variations, blog posts with their URLs, plugins to replace.
PrestaShop → Shopify
Product combinations, specific modules, passwords differ by version.
Shopware → Shopify
Admin API, properties vs. real variants, configurable SEO templates.
OpenCart → Shopify
No full catalog API, extraction via extension or database.
Wix → Shopify
Shopify's official app available, plus everything it doesn't move.
BigCommerce → Shopify
Mature REST/GraphQL API, variants and modifiers, URL structure options.

What we move, regardless of the source platform
The list is the same at a high level; the technical details differ per platform — find them on the dedicated page.
| What we move | How, in general |
|---|---|
| Products and variants | Pulled via the source's API, mapped onto Shopify's option system (max 3 option types, max 2,048 variants per product). |
| Images | Downloaded from the old address and re-uploaded straight to Shopify, which re-hosts them on its own CDN. |
| Specs | Become Shopify metafields — extra information boxes shown on the product page. |
| Categories and brands | Categories become collections; brands become a metafield or a collection filter. |
| Customers | Name, addresses, email, marketing consent. Passwords can't move on any platform — they're encrypted beyond recovery. |
| Order history | Recreated as history, without touching current stock (inventoryBehaviour: BYPASS). |
| Pages and blog | Moved as text, with in-content images re-hosted and links updated to the new addresses. |
| Reviews | Moved via a secondary path on platforms without a dedicated API (often the case), imported into a Shopify reviews app. |
| Coupons | Recreated as Shopify discounts; very complex rules get simplified. |
| Redirects | Every old URL mapped to its corresponding new address, with a permanent redirect. |
| Google/Meta feeds | Reconnected with a feed app; custom identifier if you want to keep ad history. |
What can't move anywhere, on any platform
Four limitations are universal — they don't depend on which platform you're coming from.
Customer passwords
Encrypted beyond recovery, on every platform. Customers sign in password-free, with a one-time code emailed at first login on the new store — the standard flow for new Shopify accounts.
Old order dates
Shopify's API doesn't allow backdating an order. They show up chronologically as "new" in the customer's account; we tag them invisibly so the theme can treat them separately.
Google Ads history
The official Google & YouTube app generates a new product identifier. For continuity, a custom identifier via a third-party app is the fix — an optional, separately priced add-on.
Custom extensions and integrations
Every custom-built feature on the old platform gets rebuilt as an equivalent Shopify app or theme code — it doesn't "migrate" automatically.
Launch day, step by step
Same order, regardless of the source platform.
Final sync
We re-run extraction for any order, stock change or new customer since the last pull.
Domain switch
Technically redirecting the store's address, ideally during a low-traffic window.
The checks
An old URL lands in the right place, cart and checkout work, prices and stock are correct, an existing customer can log in.
Google feed
We turn on the new product feed, verifying ad history isn't lost.
Conversions
Tracking scripts (Google Ads, Meta, Analytics) installed correctly on the new store.
Automated verification at the end
Once data is written to Shopify, we count and compare — we don't assume it "probably worked".
- Counts: how many products, customers and orders landed in Shopify, compared against the old store.
- Product sample: we manually check price, stock, images and variants on a sample.
- Redirect coverage: we verify what percentage of old URLs has a new mapped destination.
- A written report, with what moved, what's left to verify manually, and what we need you to confirm.
What it costs, and what moves the price
The price is quoted after we see your store — there's no fixed rate that works fairly for everyone.
- The source platform — each one has its own API, its own limits and its own "no export path" items.
- How many products, variants and integrations need rebuilding.
- How clean your current URL structure is.
- Whether you also want reviews migrated, on platforms without a dedicated API for them.
As a reference, a new Shopify store build starts from €950 + VAT.
When migration isn't worth it
If your current store runs well, the real monthly cost doesn't exceed what you'd pay on Shopify plus a few apps, and you don't have meaningful organic traffic to protect, you don't have a technical reason to migrate. It makes sense once maintaining the old platform — hosting, updates, a developer for every small change — has grown to cost more than a Shopify subscription, or when you need a larger ecosystem of apps and integrations than your current platform offers.
Questions about Shopify migration.
Can't find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp at +40 785 735 820.
Which platforms do you migrate from?
Magento, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, OpenCart, Wix and BigCommerce. Each platform has its own API and its own gotchas — we have a dedicated technical page for each, with real details, not generic copy.
How much does a Shopify migration cost?
It's quoted after we review your store, because the price depends on how many products you have, which integrations need rebuilding, and how clean your current URL structure is. As a reference, a new Shopify store build starts from €950 + VAT.
Will I lose my Google rankings after migration?
The risk drops a lot when it's done properly. We inventory every old URL, map each one to its new address and set up permanent redirects, on any source platform.
What can never move, regardless of the platform?
Customer passwords — they're encrypted beyond recovery on every platform, not just yours. Customers sign in password-free, with a one-time code emailed at first login on the new store. Old orders can't have their date backdated in Shopify, so they show up as "new" chronologically, but we tag them separately.
How long does a full migration take?
Usually two to six weeks, depending on the number of products, the source platform and how many integrations need rebuilding. Your old store stays live until launch day, so you don't lose sales while we work.
Do you use Shopify's official migration app?
Where it exists and helps (e.g. Wix), yes, but only as a starting point — the official app doesn't move orders, reviews, SEO or redirects on any supported platform. For Magento, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, OpenCart and BigCommerce, there's no official app option at all, so we build the process through each platform's own API.
Send us your store's address.
We look at which platform you're on, how many products you have and what your current URLs look like, then tell you what can move, what needs rebuilding and what it costs. The review doesn't commit you to anything.
