Wix to Shopify migration We finish what Shopify's own migration app leaves out.
Shopify has an official migration app for Wix, but it only moves basic products and customers. We add order history, pages, blog, reviews and redirects — exactly the part that protects your sales and your Google rankings.
What does a Wix to Shopify migration involve?
Wix is one of the few platforms officially supported by Shopify's free "Store Migration" app: it moves titles, descriptions, variants, price, stock, images, SKU, barcode and basic customer data. It doesn't move orders, collections, navigation menus, SEO data, blog posts, pages or reviews — that's our part. Wix's native product export is capped at 5,000 rows per CSV file and excludes digital products. Products with more than 3 options (Wix allows up to 6) won't import correctly, per Shopify's own warning, so we simplify them before the move. It's quoted after a store review, usually takes days to six weeks, and your Wix store stays live until cutover.
What Store Migration moves, and what we add
Shopify's free app for Wix is useful but partial — a finished migration means the rest of the list, not just the part it handles.
Moved by Shopify's official app
- Product titles, descriptions and variants
- Price, stock, images, SKU and barcode
- Customer name, email, phone and addresses
We add
- Order history (not moved by the official app at all)
- Collections, navigation menus and SEO data
- Blog posts and pages, with their URLs
- Reviews (no native export path from Wix)
- Permanent redirects for every old URL
What we move from Wix, and how
For large catalogs or stores with pages built in the Wix editor, we combine the official app with the Wix eCommerce API and manual export.
| What we move | How, technically |
|---|---|
| Products | Via the official Store Migration app, or native CSV export (capped at 5,000 rows/file; digital products don't export via CSV). |
| Variants | Wix allows up to 6 options and 1,000 variants per product; Shopify caps at 3 options — we simplify products over that limit before import. |
| Images | Included in the product export or the official app; re-uploaded to Shopify, which re-hosts them on its own CDN. |
| Specs | Become Shopify metafields, with real attribute labels. |
| Categories | Become Shopify collections — not moved automatically by the official app, rebuilt from the Wix store's visible structure. |
| Customers | Name, email, phone, addresses — via the official app or the Wix eCommerce API. Passwords can't be moved — see below. |
| Order history | Via the Wix Orders API (search/list orders), recreated as history on Shopify, without touching current stock. |
| Pages | Content built in Wix's drag-and-drop editor (or Velo code) has no structured export — rebuilt manually, with text and re-hosted images. |
| Blog | Same — rebuilt manually from visible content, with old URLs redirected. |
| Reviews | No export path from Wix Reviews — confirmed officially by Wix. Recreated manually, case by case, or restarted on Shopify with a reviews app. |
| Coupons | Recreated as Shopify discounts, based on the rules visible in the Wix store. |
| Redirects | Default Wix addresses (/product-page/{slug} for products, /category/{slug} for categories) get mapped to the new Shopify addresses. |
| Google/Meta feeds | Reconnected with a Shopify feed app, with a custom identifier if you want to keep ad history. |
What can't move anywhere, regardless of the app
Three things have no direct technical path, no matter which tool is used.
Customer passwords
Wix confirms passwords are stored as a hash and can't be recovered from their servers. Shopify can't import a hash from another platform. Customers sign in password-free, with a one-time code emailed at first login.
Native Wix reviews
There is no export function for Wix Reviews, confirmed officially. It's not a limitation of migration tools — it's a limitation of the source platform.
Velo (custom code) content
Pages built with Velo code or dynamic logic in the Wix editor have no 1:1 equivalent in Liquid, the language Shopify themes use. We identify the real function and rebuild it, not "migrate" it.
The gotchas we check as standard
These are exactly where an "official app only" migration ends up half-done.
- More than 3 options won't import correctly. An official Shopify warning for Wix migrations — not our assumption.
- Location-based pricing isn't supported. The product imports at its highest price automatically, if you had different prices per location in Wix.
- CSV export capped at 5,000 rows. Large catalogs need several successive exports, processed separately.
- Digital products don't export via CSV. Handled separately, with a different extraction method.
- Wix's Redirect Manager is manual. There's no bulk redirect import in Wix — we build the full mapping from Shopify's side, not relying on what Wix exports.
What it costs, and what moves the price
The price is quoted after we see your store.
- How many products you have, and how many exceed 3 options (need manual simplification).
- How many pages and blog posts are built in the Wix editor, so need manual rebuilding.
- Whether you also want reviews recreated — no export path from Wix.
- How many integrations (couriers, invoicing, payments) need testing before launch.
As a reference, a new Shopify store build starts from €950 + VAT.
When it's not worth paying for migration
If you have a small catalog, under 3 options per product, no complex pages built in the Wix editor, and no order history to preserve, Shopify's official app may be enough — you can use it yourself, free. It's worth paying for the full service when you have historical orders to keep, pages or posts that drive organic traffic, or reviews you don't want to lose.

Does Shopify have an official app for migrating from Wix?
Yes — Wix is one of the few platforms officially supported by Shopify's free Store Migration app. It moves titles, descriptions, variants, price, stock, images, SKU, barcode and basic customer data. It doesn't move orders, collections, menus, SEO data, blog posts, pages or reviews — that's what we handle.
How much does a Wix to Shopify migration cost?
It's quoted after we review your store: how many products you have, how many exceed Shopify's 3-option limit, and how many pages or posts need manual migration, since the official app doesn't cover them. As a reference, a new Shopify store build starts from €950 + VAT.
Will I lose my Google rankings after migration?
The risk drops a lot when it's done properly. Shopify's official app doesn't move SEO data or redirects at all — exactly the part that protects your Google rankings. We map every old URL (product, category, page) to the new one and set permanent redirects.
What happens to products with more than 3 options?
Wix allows up to 6 product options, Shopify only 3. Shopify itself warns that products with more than 3 options won't import correctly through the migration app. We flag these before the move and simplify them with you.
Can Wix reviews be migrated?
There's no export function for Wix Reviews — confirmed directly by Wix, not something we can work around with an API. The practical fix is recreating visible reviews manually, case by case, or starting fresh review collection on Shopify.
How long does a Wix migration take?
A small catalog, without complex pages built in the Wix editor, moves in a few days. A store with thousands of products, Velo code or dynamic content takes four to six weeks. Your Wix store stays live until launch day.

We look at how many products you have, which pages and posts need manual migration and what your current URLs look like, then tell you what the official app covers, what we add, and what it costs.
