In short

What the check does, and what it does not

The free check reads the public page of your store — the same page Googlebot reads — and puts it through 29 automated checks grouped into five categories: technical basics, on-page SEO, structured data, speed and images, measurement and consent. You get a score from 0 to 100, a separate score for each category and the list of problems, each with an explanation of why it matters. The result appears on screen in about 20 seconds; the full report goes to your inbox if you leave an address. We ask for no passwords, no admin access, and we use no paid data service. What it cannot do: it does not see your orders, your campaign structure or your product margins. Those are visible only with access, in a paid audit or inside a working relationship.

The 29 points

What we look at, and why each one matters

These are not checks picked at random. They are exactly the things we find broken, in the same order, in stores that come to us with expensive ads or no organic traffic at all.

1. Technical basics — 8 checks

HTTPS, the response code, time to first byte, the meta viewport, robots.txt, the sitemap line inside robots.txt, a valid sitemap.xml and whether the page is blocked from indexing with noindex. These are the things that, when missing, make the rest of the work pointless: a store with noindex on its home page does not appear in Google no matter how good the copy is. We measure server response from our request to the first byte received; above 800 milliseconds it almost always means a heavy theme or too many installed apps.

2. On-page SEO — 7 checks

The length of the title and description, the number of H1 tags, whether a canonical exists, how many H2 subheadings structure the content, how many visible words the page has and, on multilingual sites, whether hreflang is present. The canonical is the most ignored and the most expensive: stores generate the same page on dozens of addresses — filters, colour variants, campaign parameters — and without a canonical, Google splits the strength between them instead of gathering it on one.

3. Structured data and social — 5 checks

Whether JSON-LD blocks exist, the node describing the business, product schema on product pages, Open Graph tags for sharing and a breadcrumb list. Structured data is how you tell Google and AI models explicitly what you are, what you sell and at what price. Without it they guess from the text — and guess badly. Open Graph is visible immediately: share a link to your store on WhatsApp and, if an empty rectangle shows up instead of the product, you have lost a free recommendation.

4. Speed and images — 5 checks

How many images have no alt text, how many load all at once instead of waiting for the scroll, how many external scripts the page loads, how heavy the raw HTML is and whether the server compresses the response. The script count is the most useful signal for an older store: more than 18 external scripts almost certainly means apps installed at some point, forgotten there, costing both speed and a monthly subscription.

5. Measurement and consent — 4 checks

Google Analytics or Tag Manager, the Google Ads conversion tag, Meta Pixel and whether a cookie consent mechanism exists. This is where we find the most expensive mistake in the whole set: stores spending thousands a month on Google Ads without the conversion tag installed correctly. The campaign does not know which order it produced, so the algorithm optimises blind. That was exactly the problem in the lighting store from our case study: cost per order fell from 802 RON (≈ €160) to 149 RON (≈ €30) after we fixed measurement and rebuilt the campaign structure.

How to read the result

A score is not a grade. It is a list of priorities.

The overall score is simply the percentage of checks passed. It is useful to know where you stand, but it is not the important number. The important number is the score per category, because that tells you where to start.

Under 50 on Measurement: stop here. Every euro spent on ads before measurement is fixed is a euro spent on a guess. It takes about a working day to fix and it is the cheapest intervention with a large effect in the whole store.

Under 50 on Technical basics: you have an indexing problem. There is no point writing new copy if Google cannot reach it or if the sitemap does not exist. It is also quick to fix, but the effect in Google shows up over two to six weeks, the time a recrawl takes.

Under 50 on On-page SEO or Structured data: you have content and markup work ahead. The effort is larger and the effect slower, but this is the part that compounds: a well-built page brings traffic for years. We write about this at length on ecommerce SEO.

Under 50 on Speed and images: you lose visitors before they see the product, especially on a phone. Start with the images — that is the best effort-to-result ratio you will find.

One thing we repeat often, because it is true: in most stores that ask us for help with expensive ads, half the fix is not in the account, it is in the store. That is why the same people run the ads and keep the store maintained — when we find something broken, we repair it instead of emailing a list of recommendations.

After the check

An automated check is the first filter, not the final diagnosis.

A robot sees structure. A person sees the economics of the store. These are the three steps, and what each one costs.

What we do with your data

The store address and the email, nothing else.

When you press “Check for free”, we send a single request to the address you typed, exactly like an ordinary visitor, and read the page that comes back together with robots.txt and sitemap.xml. We do not pass the address on to any third-party service. We install nothing in your store and leave no trace beyond one visit in your own analytics.

If you ask for the full report, we keep your name and email so we can send it and answer questions. We do not sell them, do not share them and do not add you to any newsletter. We delete the address on request, by a message to selleasy.romania@gmail.com. Everything about data is written in our privacy policy.

The controller is our company based in Ploiești, Romania (VAT RO44749026). The same company runs the Google Ads accounts from which we publish our result figures, anonymised.

Frequently asked

What people ask us about the check.

Not here? Write to us on WhatsApp at +40 785 735 820.

How much does the check cost?

Nothing. It runs on our servers and reads only the public page of your store, exactly what Google reads. You get three checks a day from the same connection. What is paid for is the detailed technical audit done by a person, with access to the store and the ad accounts, where we look at things no robot can see.

What exactly do you check?

Twenty-nine things in five groups: technical basics (HTTPS, response code, time to first byte, viewport, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, whether the page is blocked from indexing), on-page SEO (title, description, H1, canonical, subheadings, amount of text, hreflang), structured data and social (JSON-LD, the business node, product schema, Open Graph, breadcrumbs), speed and images (alt text, lazy loading, number of scripts, HTML weight, compression) and measurement (Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag, Meta Pixel, cookie consent).

Do you get into my store?

No. We ask for no passwords, no admin access and we connect to no account. We read the page any visitor can open, plus the public robots.txt and sitemap.xml files. If you want an analysis from the inside — orders, abandoned carts, campaign structure — that is the conversation we have on a call.

Does a low score mean my store is bad?

No. The score measures how well the store is prepared for Google and for ads, not how good the product or the brand is. We have seen stores with healthy sales and a score under 50: it only meant they were paying more than they needed to for every order.

Why do you ask for an email for the full report?

Because the full report has all twenty-nine checks with an explanation for each, and it reads better in an email than on a page. We also use it to know who to answer if you have questions. We do not add you to any newsletter and we do not share the address. You can ask us to delete it any time, at selleasy.romania@gmail.com.

Does it work on stores that are not on Shopify?

Yes. The checks are about HTML, not about the platform, so they work the same on WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento or a custom-built store. We detect automatically whether the store runs on Shopify and say so in the result, because some recommendations apply differently.

What do I do once I have the report?

Read it top to bottom. Fix the Measurement problems first, because without correct measurement any ad budget is a guess. Then the Technical basics, which block indexing. If you want us to fix them, write to us: we can take them into a maintenance plan or clear them before we start Google Ads campaigns.
